Product Overview

This matte black 11’, 2/3wt, 4-piece carbon fiber switch rod blank is described to us a switch rod blank but seems much more suited as a nymph blank. Its longer length and lighter weight are ideal for euro nymphing. The medium-fast action combined with its long narrow tip make it highly responsive to even the most sensitive strikes. The length and weight of the blank make it ideal for controlled drifts cast after cast. This black has a tip over ferrule system and comes in its own black rod sock.

    11', 2/3WT, 4PC SWITCH ROD

I built this up as my first trout Spey rod and have been learning to spey cast with it. I have been very happy with it so far. I’ve been able to get good distance with an Airflo Scout 210 grain Skagit head with a 10 foot sinking poly leader. With this setup I can get good distance and delicate presentations with small soft hackles. I’m excited to build up the 11’ 3/4wt for my next trout Spey rod.

11', 2/3 WT, 4 PC SWITCH ROD BLANK

Posted by William Davies on 3rd Nov 2021

During the spring and summer months I fish the Cascade Lakes out of a float tube. I find that an eleven foot rod better suites my casting style. I often find fish feeding in shallow water and are easily spooked. The rod with a 2 WT double taper line allows for delicate presentations in these situations. The rod tip is soft enough to protect light tippets, but has sufficient "back-bone" to handle large fish. I'm on my third rod now, having gifted the first two to friends. Great price and prompt service.
