Very good action for a value priced blank. This dark green blank works much like the much higher priced blanks. Another good value.

    Great Value

Unbelievable rod blank for the money! Don’t consider this a beginner’s rod as it can handle most 5 weight duties from delicate longer leader dry fly presentations or heavy double nymph rigs. The moderate fast action is a welcome change from most blanks claiming to be fast action 5 weights. Very pleased with how well this rod casts and has a tremendous amount of feel during the casting stroke. Will most definitely purchase another!

    9' 5 Weight 4 Piece IM8 Fly Rod Blank

Posted by Robert Sealy on 21st Nov 2019

This rod really surprised me. I have cast "5 weight" rods that could probably handle a 7 weight line. Or the other end of the spectrum, where they were overloaded with 20' of line out. However, with this rod, I was casting 50' of DT5F line effortlessly and accurately. For me, that is really good. :) The feel of this rod is outstanding. If you want a true 5 weight with a great combination of feel and backbone, this is your rod!
