The matte grey 9’, 5wt 4-piece carbon fiber fly rod blank is made from IM12 carbon and features a moderate action flex which loads with precision. This blank has a nice classic action flex that allows you to accurately whip the fly right where you want it. This blank is also a newer addition to our GB Fly Shop's stock and is quickly becoming a popular match to our Matte Grey 7'9" and 8’6” blanks.

I received a gloss blank more of a gloss titanium color. Very stiff fast action imo. Not what I was looking for but had a time crunch so built it out. A donation rod for first time fly fisherwoman so was really wanting a more moderate action as described.

This is a good rod for beginners is forgiving but also for experienced angler is concerned about small tippets but has good back bone don't let the moderate action deter you

Haven’t built my recent purchase of these, but have built one in the past from the same type blank and it has worked well for trout and small mouth bass. Will purchase more.

They have a fantastic quality and feel very smooth when casting. Also they packaged the rod great and nothing came damaged. Going to buy more soon!

Blank itself is really really nice as all the blanks for gab flyshop are. This was the first time a blank arrived damaged, I contacted seller and they are replacing the broken tip section. 5stars GBflyshop
